Step By Step Tutorial | Romantic Valentines Day Look

Last week I showed a sneak peek of this Valentines Day FOTD on my Instagram & twitter. It's a very simple step by step tutorial on how to achieve this soft, romantic Valentines Day look. I hope you all like it!

I mainly focused on the eyes and lips so as you can see, I went very natural on the cheeks with only a touch of bonzer. Remember to limit your focus on one or two points for a more natural, feminine & clean look. ;)

(1) I like to start on my eyes after I finish with my foundation, cheeks and matifying powders. Step 1 for me is to always curl my lashes then going onto tight lining my eyes. I like to line the whole of my top waterline and up to half way on the bottom.

(2) Next, instead of an eyeshadow primer, I like to use a cream eyeshadow as my base. I find that it holds my shadows on really well, preventing creasing and also helping to make the eyeshadows more vibrant.

(3) I went over the cream eyeshadow with the silver Bourjois colour and applied the purple colour from the Visee palette.

(4) This is how it looks so far! I then went on to blending out the harsh edges for a more soft look.

(5) After blending the eyeshadows, I used my favourite Dolly Wink liquid eyeliner and instead of one flick, I drew two extra lines :)

(6) Take the eyeshadow down to the lower lash line, draw in eyebrows, lengthen your lashes with Clinique High Impact Mascara and you're done!

For the Lips, I chose to mix a bright pink colour with a darker red shade of lip gloss to neutralise the colour.

Lens Village | Puffy 3 Tones Grey (Shinny Grey) & Pop C Light Brown Lens Review & Discount Code

Today I have not only one, but two circle lens reviews. Two very different styles from LensVillage.com who are home to a wide range of other lenses :) Thank you to Florence who provided these lens for review purposes.

DUEBA Puffy 3 Tones Grey (Shinny Grey)

First up, we have the Puffy 3 Tones Grey, also known as Shinny Grey.

Model is manufactured by Dueba, labelled under DollyEye watermark
The duration is 1 year, however I'd still recommend to only keep them for a few months for hygiene reasons
These are available in powers from 0.00 to -10.00
B.C 8.6mm and Diameter 14.5mm
The origin of these lenses are South Korea

Close up details of the Puffy 3 Tone lens. It looks so pixelated haha. I do wish it was slightly less pixel looking but it helps to give a soft, more natural finish.

The above picture shows both sides - normal side and the inside out side. I find the normal side still has a soft edge and I actually had to look twice to double check that I hadn't worn it the wrong way.

I really love the overall look of the Puffy 3 Tone lens. I wore these to watch the Australian Open Tennis in this post and it was comfortable throughout the whole day. It's noticeable but not too in your face or alien like. I love circle lens for the enlargement and colour factor but I do have to admit, some can be too big it's scary for people who don't know what circle lens are.

EOS Pop C Light Brown

Here we have the Pop C Light Brown lens.

Brand: EOS
The duration is also 1 year, but again, I'd recommend to only keep them for a few months for hygiene reasons

The origin of these lenses are South Korea

Close up details. To be honest when I first saw the design it wasn't one that impressed me. I've seen many of these on circle lens stores but it never attracted me. Though, when I put it on, I was pleasantly surprised that it looked quite natural and it really grew on me. When these are on my eyes, they remind me of the Bambi Almond Brown lens that are one of my ultimate favourites!

I think the design blends well into my dark eye colour. It's a design I wouldn't mind wearing to work or when I don't want my look to be considered 'too much' but still have the enlargement.

Above is the eyelash applicater tweezer that I'd never had experience using, but it made things a million times easier! Much faster to remove from the packaging, without damaging the lashes, and easy application on the eyes! No more gluey fingers and time, saved!

Premium Lower Lashes in Vivid - If you're after big dolly eyes, this is definitely the go-to bottom lash! Personally, I think I'd only wear this if I have my circle lens on because it is rather dramatic! The original length was too long so I cut a small bit off. If you don't know how much to cut off, simply measure it on your eyes before you apply glue and then snip the excess!

You can always play around and cut them into smaller pieces to get another different look or even to get more use out of them!

Depending on your make up look, you can position them closer to your lash line or even lower, for that extra big dolly-eye effect. You can also achieve a different eye shape with the positioning of your bottom lashes, too!

Premium Upper Lashes in Baby Doll - These lashes are a perfect way to give length and glamour to your eyes. You can see the design is of a shorter to longer style that will help to elongate and make your eyes stand out! This style is a personal favourite of mine and I find it's the most natural look out of the false lash designs out there.

Premium Upper Lashes in China Doll - China Doll is a very flirty, fluttery and girly design. I do love how each individual lash is thin and appears more natural but as mentioned in the Baby Doll description, I prefer a little shorter length towards the inner eye. Nonetheless, a gorgeous, natural style that would be perfect for a date or a catch up with someone special!
♥ Look 4.5/5, Comfortability 5/5, Price 5/5

Standard Upper Lashes in 017 - Now this standard pair came as a surprise! I love love how it looks when you look straight on, but from the side or the top it's very dramatic! It's somewhat too much for day time but perfect for a night out! This is only my opinion so if you love an obvious and out there kind of lash, this is the one for you!

I did notice a subtle difference in the feel of these lashes. The quality was as great as the other two in the premium line but these standard lashes were a little more tough. The band wasn't as flexible as the premium lashes but the design is still amazing!

Many of you know how much I enjoy the tennis, whether it's watching or playing, I am a major tennis fan! The Dove Marquee! The line looks short here but it was massive, it goes well on to the stairs but definitely worth the wait.

Here is the gorgeous Emily! I was so happy to have her with me during the day session as most of the other bloggers were going to the night session!

A few more snaps from inside the Dove Marquee. I love the fruity scents that these anti-perspirant deodrants have. I received the cucumber & green tea scented spray and looking forward to using it when I play tennis next :) The Dove Marquee is open to the public so if you're heading to the tennis, don't forget to check it out! I took so many photos of the food, I had a hard time choosing which to include in this post! Lunch was served in the 'ao club' and it was just divine. You may have seen my friend and I eating those cakes-on-a-stick on my instagram already hehe.

Here's just an extra from the Evian Marquee. They were filming the longest clip and my friend and I decided to take part in it! I know the poses look terrible but it was really fun!

Snaps of the tennis matches we got to watch! Seeing them play live is such an amazing experience! They never cease to amaze me with their skills!! It was unfortunate that Sam couldn't win on home grounds but I really fell in love with Sorana's play. I can't believe she's born in 1990, two years younger than me!! I really hope she does well in the tournament! Djokovic proved how awesome he is, once again!

Here's my ootd, fotd and eotd. I didn't even end up wearing my hat because we had amazing shaded seats! I wanted to wear a tank top but I still have a really bad finger tan on my shoulders from when I played tennis and got badly burnt haha.

'Fushigi' in Japanese is best translated as 'mysterious'. It's my second accessory piece that I've purchased from Yasumi. You can take a look at my other necklace purchase here.

Here is a screen cap of her beautiful handmade creations!
I immediately fell in love with the greige gold coloured bracelet. I love the delicate gold skull & ribbon combo.

Here's what came in the package. A bonus - mega cute - lip gloss, samples of BB creams from Etude House and information on how to care for the new purchase.

The bracelet was customised to my own wrist size so as you can see below, it fits perfectly!

2011 Bits & Pieces

2011 has almost come to an end and yet I've still got many photos saved in my "To Blog" album.
I want to start my 2012 with fresh content! My new year's resolution for my blog is to run a healthy posting routine. I am sick of procrastinating and being behind in blogging. With that being said, I've decided to cram what's left of my scheduled posts into one and clear my backlogged 2011 posts.

I'm 23 now woooo. It was a relatively quiet birthday this year. I had an intimate dinner with close friends and watched the new Mission Impossible movie. It was a peaceful night out with no clubbing and crazy consumption of alcohol. ♡

A friends farewell party had the theme of Rubik's Cube - come in 6 pieces all in the colours of the Rubik's Cube. It was a tough one! I decided to make my outfit :) Orange boys top thrifted for $4 then cut it up, green skirt was my brother's t-shirt, which I made into a skirt and socks are sleeves of another top. The white long vest was a long sleeved shirt which I also cut up!

I've recently been very lazy with my - What I Wore Today - posts. I thought I'd create a mini collage instead of individual posts. Unless I find a personal photographer for these outfit photos, I'm going to have to stick to mirror shots or cropping a lot~ It's really really hard to take good shots!

The First Ever Glossybox In Australia

Hello again~ Here is another delayed post that was meant to be up earlier. Maybe I should consider purchasing an iPad to make blogging on-the-go easier!
I present to you, the first ever Glossybox in Australia! I was sent the box for review purposes.

If you're not already familiar with how these monthly subscription beauty boxes work, take a look here. It explains everything you need to know :)
It's so true that first impressions count. From the moment I saw the box, it was a positive experience. Gorgeous box, sufficient information and packed with care. What stood out to me the most however, was not only the pretty packaging, but the partner brands of Glossybox. I can say I know more than 90% of the brands and that somewhat makes my interest for this box a lot more higher than being sent a box full of samples of brands I've never heard of. I know in a previous review, I mentioned it's great to be able to try new brands to experiment but I can't help but be excited when I see some of my favourite brands such as Shiseido, Shu Uemura, YSL, Illamasqua, Jurlique etc.

So here's a picture of what was inside the November Glossybox.

There is a very handy card that explains what products you've received, how much it can be purchased for and some information on each item. Apart from the 5 products, included in this box was a 15% off Jurlique products storewide card! Woo now I can go and buy my HG Rose Silk Powder! Oh and pink jellybeans!! I demolished them as soon as I opened them. Lollies = win.

I've become a little more familiar with the Bio-Oil and Mirenesse products, thanks to ABBW. I've started using the oil and so far so good so to have a back up is perfect! Which girl can have too many lip glosses? The Mirenesse lipgloss is a red colour called 'Geisha'. A great pair with the Essie nail polish.
One more thing - I love that I can reuse the Glossybox for storage!

Clinique Beauty Bloggers Event 2011

Hi everyone! Sorry for the lack of updates (>д<')
I can't believe it's already the 16th of December! Only 9 more days till Christmas, 12 more days till I turn 23 and 15 days till the end of 2011. Crazy, but before talking about the end of December, just wanted to share how I spent my final day of November. I spent it in a beautiful venue - the Onyx room at Comme. It was the Clinique Beauty Bloggers Event and it was a perfect way to put an end to the month.

I unfortunately forgot to bring along my camera, so there isn't many photos from the night. I did however manage to take a couple with my trusty iPhone 4S.

As always with the MBBE ladies, the night was filled with excitement and laughter. We had Alexis and Miranda share the story of Clinique and we also got to hear some new products waiting to launch! There was also a makeup demonstration by Courtney on gorgeous 2011 IT girl, Melanie. Each blogger also had the chance to have their skin analyized by a Clinique consultant. Here is a list of recommendations the consultant wrote down for me. Iphone to the rescue! Couldn't remember all of it so I took a photo of it :)

I have so many 'main' skin concerns hehe. Apart from Oilyness in T and dehydration, I'm getting a little crazy about sun damage prevention. When I drive, I wear this glove thing to protect the skin. Going a little over broad right? I hear an amazing product that can help with this is launching next year, I can't wait to know more about it!

I love the booklet we got to take home, it was a great way for me to get to know more about Clinique. I snapped the goodies with each page so you can see what they are :)

I trialled the number one selling High Impact Mascara! Do I love it? Well, yes! Look how different it looks with and without~ I shall try the Chubby Stick and Black Honey soon.

Trialling different braid techniques to keep my fringe out of the way while I try and grow it out. If anyone knows the name of this braid please enlighten me!
My first brush cleanser from Artiste Manicare. Works great but the smell is overwhelming and I feel I should wash my brushes to get the smell away - defeats the purpose.

After some badminton, we had some fish & chips at Edithvale Beach. Such a beautiful way to end the day.

Oscar Oscar Salon

Almost 2 weeks ago now, I was lucky enough to be invited to the MBBE Oscar Oscar Champagne Breakfast Event that was held in the Chadstone salon. It was indeed what the name stated, the event started from 8:30am on a Sunday morning and we were spoilt with beautifully catered food and greeted with champagne, kindly sponsored by Jacobs Creek. Big big thanks to all the staff, I had an amazing morning! Thanks for starting extra early for us, too.

The event started off with some helpful hair tips and a couple demonstrations of popular looks as seen on the models at fashion shows. They made it look so easy! Some tips I found useful were, spray along the hair direction, not against it & secure hair without the hair-tye showing for a more complete look, with the help of some hidden bobby pins! It's a little hard to explain - get a piece of hair between the pin and with that, loop the pony tail then secure in hair. Gosh, I can see some of you scratching your head.. please visit Jack Chan in Chadstone for more details lol! I'm horrible at explaining hair techniques, sorry!

Following the demo, each of us had the privilege to undergo an Oscar Oscar hair makeover! Here I am trying to absorb in all the info and tips I was given by my stylist, Gino.

I was super impressed by the Cloud Nine irons. No heat protecting product was usedl, but surprisingly my hair had a lot more shine and looked healthier after use. I've been a huge GHD fan but am now wishing it gave me that shine the Cloud Nine did!

We got to try the Aveda's Air Control, a long lasting flexible hold hairspray for all hair types. With a lot of other hairsprays, I spray my hair then have to run away from it because of the strong smell, but the air control had a pleasant smell to it and no running was required ;)

Here are shots of the finished look. I got my sister to take these photos at home, just before I had to tie it up and rush off to tennis. I was disappointed to think that my curls would go to waste, but the Air Control did an amazing job at holding them in place. I had pretty hair while playing sport - win!

My Mini Pink Haul | Hello Kitty, MAC, Daiso

I've given myself a beauty ban - I cannot purchase any beauty product untill I have either finished the entire product or have nothing alike. For example I repurchase certain skincare when it runs out as there is no replacement but things like lippies, I have many similar shades so untill I use them up, I can't allow myself to buy anything.

Everything was going so well until I succumbed into buying the limited edition Priceline X Hello Kitty lip balms. I picked these up at the Doncaster Westfield Priceline.

A while ago, I stupidly lost my new MAC tinted lip conditioner in Petting Pink. I didn't even get to swatch this new baby, all I managed to do was take pictures. I bought this for $28 and so the Hello Kitty balm was a bargain at $9.95 and cute too.

I also walked into Daiso to find myself walking out with a new $2.80 lippie. Since I broke my ban, I thought why not. It's a terrible way of thinking but I think I've been good over the past few months.

I LOVE the lip balm. It's helped me get over the fact that I lost my MAC balm. The Daiso on the other hand, tends to highlight my dry lips and it isn't a shade I love unfortunately. I don't really like the metallic pink shade it gives off and it looks different to what the picture suggested. I'm not too fussed as it's from Daiso and I didn't expect much. Still wearable:)

The Hello Kitty balm is great but I find that it doesn't last long and the product will be used up very fast! The Daiso lippie has a very soft texture, I'm afraid on a hot day, it'll melt or even break.
Since this is a mini pink haul, I'll include this as well. It's another item I picked up from Daiso - a very pretty boddy srub towel :)

After MBBE concluded, many of us went to have dinner at Solarino Cafe just around the corner from Miss Fox. It was such a great way to put an end to the lovely event, I know for sure that a few of us were dying to stuff out faces with food!

I finished off my last post saying I'd try to take an outfit photo and fotd, I didn't manage to get the outfit pic but hopefully you don't mind seeing my EOTD instead. I got ready and was set to go when I realised that I'd forgotten to do my nails and take photos. Bit of a #failwhale moment there. I wore my Bambi Series, Almond Brown circle lens but these photos were before I put them in.

Gradient Lips | A Dark Mysterious Version & A Soft Natural Version

I've been taking a liking to gradient lips recently. I've seen very soft gradient lips on many Korean models and thought it was really pretty. I then searched Google images to see if I could find more pictures of my new found interest.

I found many beautifully painted lips, some with rainbow gradation, others with two to three tones only. I was definitely too lazy to attempt those crazy colours but when searching Youtube, I found this video from a blogger who goes by the name Nymphette. Thought it was a perfect, daring look to attempt!

I know black eyeliner was used in her video but I had this older, now discontinued blue eyeliner from Shiseido and I thought I'd give that a crack. Not too bad for my first attempt right? Hehe ok, honestly look at the top lip. The lining is horrible!! But I tried.. Even on a daily basis, I hardly ever wear dark colours on my lips so I never have the need to line my lips. It was definitely challenging. I'd much rather doing someone elses haha.

I only used two colours to achieve this look. I got the purple effect by blending out the blue with a lip brush and also I would recommend to use some lip balm as a base for easier blending! I've used BURT'S BEES Beeswax Lip Balm that is picured in the second product photo.
(Also a little off topic but the above and below photo as well as the second product photo was taken on my new iphone 4S! How amazing is the quality for a phone cam?! )

Soft Natural Gradient Lips
Here is the softer version :) Something I can dare to wear out in public. I think I'd only wear the other one if it was a dress up or a special event.

Here I used the NARS Velvet Matte Lip Pencil in Calliope & cute BENEFIT Posietint (poppy-pink tinted lip & cheek stain) sample. I have the full size of the rose tint and seriously fell in love with lip tints!

To match my pink based coral lips, I wore the below outfit. I seldom wear orange but thought it was a perfect opportunity to wear some colour.

The hair was still black because this post has been in my drafts for a while. Oops. A *bad blogger* moment.. :)p

Love Package From Eki ♡ | Instagram Part IV

I just wanted to share my love package that I received from the super kawaii Erika of ekiblog.com <3
Erika-chan and I have been *online* friends for a while now, we often practice our Japanese together on twitter and it's really fun because I hardly get to use it on a daily basis, apart from at home with the family.

All wrapped up pretty hehe. That hello kitty ended up being a sweet little note.

Minnie Mouse ♥

This time last year I skanked it up in a super tight and not to mention short sailor outfit with a bunch of my sailor friends but this year seemed rather uneventful. Still, I was itching to do something since it's not everyday you get to dress up out of character.
Did you dress up this halloween?
I was originally going to do a pink FOTD to support the Cancer Council's Pink Ribbon Day. I spent the early hours of the morning - 1:30am - painting and waiting for my pink nails to dry. I got out all the pink beauty products I could find, which wasn't many, so that I could get straight into it the next morning.
All this preparation, however, was ruined when I got to the eyeliner step. I used one that was different to my everyday liner and I forgot how horribly wet and unsmooth it applied, and so when I opened my eyes it went all over the eyelid :'( So to fix this problem I decided to go over it with thick horizontal lines to make it look like it was meant to be like that lol. #FAIL.
Due to the fact that my makeup was no longer 'normal', I decided to switch from a pink fotd to a haloween look.
In the end, I dressed up as MINNIE♥MOUSE. It was the only costume like thing I owned. If I had planned better, I would've painted my nails red and perhaps tried out some bold red lips! Well I can always do a red lip look later on I guess hehe.

Here are most of the products that I used for this look. I've forgotten to take some pics but most of what you can see on my face are pictured here. I enjoyed using a mixture of products, I used to use ALL Shiseido make up back when I worked there so it was really fun playing with different brands and textures. The Lancome and Clarins are samples I had that I never got to use so it was a perfect opportunity to try them out! I just noticed I forgot to label the curler oops; it's the old Shiseido eyelash curler. The new one is now black~

Here are more of the colours that you can see on my face.
On top of the Maybelline lipstick, I used Jill Stuart's pink lipgloss but somehow managed to forget to include it.
I used the Shiseido hydro-powder eyeshadow for my eyeshadow base. Apart from the pink colour I got from the luminizing eye colour trio from Shiseido, I used a darker pink pigment from the 88 colour palette around the crease. I tested out my new Illamasqua blush I picked up for $15 at IMATS Sydney in September too. It is so pigmented, I LOVE it. That Kose eyeliner in the bottom right of the photo is horrible LOL. Do not recommend at all. Unless you want a blotchy, slow drying liquid liner.

Here's a closer shot of the eye. You can guess which eye I stuffed up on ;) The LEFT, if it wasn't obvious enough.

I used my Phillips Teaze 2 brush that I posted about here. When I've got the minnie hood on you can't see but when I'm wearing my ear clips, my hair has a little more volume~ No hairspray was used so the volume didn't last long.

My NOTD. This was ¥350 from a small store in Japan. Super cheap and great for it's price. I picked it up years ago so I can't remember where in Japan it was except that it was in Osaka.
Oh yeah did I mention, it was just a home dressup so I only took photos for the blog and then washed my face and changed out of the costume hehe. Next year I'm going to make my friends dress up with me so I don't feel so sad!

REVE Hair | Dark Ash Brown

Yay I finally got the pics off my sister so I can update about my new hair colour! I'm a little disappointed with the outcome. I wanted a more visible difference, however, the hair dresser and my sister said I should choose this colour and I guess I was too indecisive and I agreed to their suggestions.

I almost forgot to take before pics but managed to take a couple as I was about to go in. It's with my sister's new iphone 4s front cam. I so can't wait till I get my new phone to photowhore with haha. I know in one pic I am frowning and in the second I look sleazy but these two are the only pics of me and my last moments with black hair.

So this time, I tried out REVE Hair Salon near the QV market. The salon interior wasn't as glamorous as other Japanese salons like Stairs and Tsumiki but it was on par with the service and quality.

I tweeted some pics during the process and so here is the finished look.

I want to see more of the colour when I'm not in the sun too! I'm thinking of giving it a few months and going lighter. I've already said this on twitter, but I hadn't dyed my hair since year 12. That's almost 6 years ago now~

My sister and I had lunch afterwards at Brunetti on Lygon St. I ordered the seafood crepe and blood orange granita. YUM.

So the colour I ended up getting was called Platina Silver Brown which is meant to be an ash brown colour. She wasn't too clear on the name when I asked her so I'm not too sure myself. I got the cut, colour and treatment for $150.
I had no idea but if you mention you saw on DengonNet (Japanese paper) you saw it, first time visitors can get a free treatment or 15% off. She asked me you saw it right, which offer do you want? And I really had no idea but since she told me I got the complimentary treatment haha :D

Totally rushed this post, it's the long weekend here and I have so much I need to get done! My parents & grandma are gonig to be back from Japan in a few days and so a big house cleanup and job hunt is in need! Noooo >.<

THE FRINGE WIG | Hair Accessories

I'm going to squeeze in one more post before my giveaway!
So here it is, check out my Justin Beiber-like fringe wig! FYI, it's got nothing to do with j.bieber, I just happened to clip it in much too low and thus resulted in this look.

I asked my sister to get it for me when she went back to Japan a while ago and till this day, I haven't worn it out. Not too sure if I will just yet. The above second pic looks like I cut my hair! Definitely didn't though, I've decided to grow it out long again but this time have it thinned and coloured.

Terrible - I took the pic for an EOTD, but it's been more than few days or close to a week and I totally forgot what I used. I blame it on the reason that I've been experimenting with different colours and so it's very easy to forget/confuse. Next EOTD I do, I will note it down!

Here are some hair accessories I've purchased on ebay. They are affordable so even for a jobless being like myself, it was ok! I won't be saying this for much longer though. I need to stop procrastinating and find myself a job! >3<
Left to right:
Volume up velcro bump: Seriously, an awesome, easy way to give that extra volume and puff when you attempt an updo hair style. Comes in two sizes. I got it from here.
Phillips Teaze 2 brush: Works perfect. I used to use those thin combs to tease my hair after spraying loads of hairspry but now I can use less hairspray and do a few back combs and it works fine! Got these here.
Spin Pin Hair Clips: I got a pack of 10 and they are quite amazing. I do need to use more than 2 to hold up my thick, layered hair. If you had thin hair, I think two should be enough. For me I have really really thick, stubborn and long hair so I wish these pins were longer in length. The support is great at first, but it just can't reach more than half way through my thick bun and after a short while, comes loose. Check these out here.

I've received my September beauty box from Boudoir Privé and have only managed to update about it now. Apologies for the delay!
What is Boudoir Privé?
"It is an online members-only beauty club, made to help people discover and try high end beauty products from the comfort of their homes."
I was kindly sent the September beauty box from the lovely team, thank you!
It's always nice when a hand written card is included too.

For those of you who aren't familiar with beauty boxes, this is how it works.

If you don't know already, I'm a huge sucker for packaging so they've got a big tick from me in that aspect!

So inside the beauty box there were many little surprises.
1. Zoya professional lacquer in Tao
2. A sample of the Agent Provocateur L'Agent parfum
3. 100% natural Tropic Skincare body smooth refreshing polish
4. Colbert MD nourish eye cream
5. Cargo Cosmetics boogie nights eye pencil in 02 blue
6. Macadamia healing oil treatment for hair

Swatching the Zoya lacquers! I recently got some flat grey colours from Revlon so this would fit perfectly to add texture to them. I have applied two coats and I was pleased with Zoya's speedy drying time. (My first Zoya polish)

Here are the swatches of the Cargo Cosmetics eye pencil. It's got shimmer! I've swatched lightly, medium and dark so you get a better idea.

My overall thoughts on beauty boxes:
I love the idea of them. Seeing as I can often be shy of asking for skincare/perfume samples, it's a great way to try out new things without having to ask.
It's a fun way of discovering new brands, working out what works for you and what doesn't.
You can receive colours and textures that you normally would not purchase - but you may be pleasantly surprised.
Thoughts on Boudoir Privé:
Definitely recommend them! They were very friendly, the communication was fast and efficient, boxes delivered accurately. The whole experience was very pleasant.
I think the price is reasonable - I say think because I haven't had experience ordering with any other beauty box companies.
Their website is clear, easy to understand, modern and attractive.
Would I sign up?
If it was me a few months back, I would say yes. However, I'd have to go with a no. To explain this - currently, I have more than enough skincare, cosmetics, nail, bath&body products than I can handle. Especially post ABBW product overload hehe. Another reason is that sadly i'm still unemployed. If I stopped being so lazy, update my resumé and found myself a nice job then even with a room full of beauty products I'd probably say YES!

♥ BAMBI SERIES | Princess Mimi Almond Brown (バンビシリーズ・アーモンド)

In my earlier post about the Bambi Series (green apple) I wrote that I'd update on these almond brown designs and so finally, here it is.

I purchased these lens from eyecandylens for $26.88. I currently alternate these with my bambi green apple lenses. I wear these when I want a more natural look but still want to achieve the enlarging effect. I LOVE the design. The way it blends into the natural eye colour, is just awesome.

Brand: GEO // Origin: South Korea // Water Content: 38%-42% // Diameter: 14.5mm // Base Curve: 8.6 // Duration: 1 year disposable
This is with no flash. You can see how much it enlarges my natural eye size. It's quite large but with a heap of mascara, it balances out a litter better :)

Again, I love this design. Simple, enlarging, the most natural a large diameter circle lens can give you and absolutely comfortable.

On both eyes. This photo was from a different day, I noticed because my eyeshadow is a different colour and I've put that eyebrow mascara thing on. Not the best pic but hopefully it's clear enough.
So now I've got 2 of the colours from the Bambi Series and I'm really keen on purchasing the sesame grey and chocolate brown. If I decide to get them, I'll definitely do another post on them! Thanks for reading :)

I am so glad I pre-purchased a 30KG check in luggage. My baggage came to a total of 28KG's, I was so close to having to pay $20 per each extra kilo so it was a big sigh of relief!!

I will definitely miss my darker theme, however, I've been meaning to make my blog less busy & more simple. I'm still not 100% happy with it so I will be playing around with html over the week. I want to improve my header/banner, so you may find some differences later on. Although, I may get lazy and leave it as is. We'll see!

It's a little sudden that I bought my blog domain and spent some real time (over 3 hrs) trying to improve my blog! I was inspired by the amazing weekend I experienced at The Australian Beauty Blogger Weekend in Sydney. I met so many lovely bloggers from all over Australia, PR's, beauty editors, and inspirational speakers. I've also been overwhelmed by having some people recognising me & the blog. Thank you so much to the people that said 'HI', it was so exciting, fun and encouraging!!

I will be blogging about the weekend soon. I need to decide how I'm going to blog about it all. It may end up being more than one post!

Simple Hair & Outfit

Here's a simple look from yesterday:)
I had to make a quick visit to the shops but my hair was a mess and I had no intention of getting it all done up for nothing so I did a quick braid so that I can pull it into a low neat ponytail. I used my fingers to pull and 'puff' the top to avoid a flat head too.

I picked up the closest t-shirt & pants in my drawer and added a necklace to spice up the boring outfit.

Oh and here are my new sandals from Peeptoe Shoes that I blogged about in my previous entry :)

I've just got off the phone with a Jetstar agent, they cancelled my Melb > Syd flight tmr morning and put me on the next available flight which was all good. Then when the new itinerary came, my checked in baggage was missing! So I called Jetstar again, had to go through hold and whatnot and when I finally got to a human, she hung up.. I was about to tear my hear out! I've got so much to do and being on hold to Jetstar is the last thing I want to be doing haha. Anyway, since there's really no other option, I called them back and now it's supposedly fixed and will be resent to my email. *fingers crossed*

So, this time tomorrow I will be in Sydney for The Australian Beauty Blogger Weekend 2011!! Exciting or what~~ I'll not only get to catch up & meet some Melbourne bloggers, I'll get to meet many more bloggers who I'd otherwise not get a chance to meet! I will blog about it upon my return so look forward to pics and stories :) I have to do some more last minute packing now!

PEEPTOE SHOES | Sale ♥

A few weeks ago, I went to Velvet Bar in Port Melbourne to have lunch with my bf. I walked passed a sign saying 'Peeptoe Sale'. I had no idea what it was but the word 'sale' captured my interest already haha & you can guess it's got something to do with shoes! We were really hungry and it was a late lunch so we decided to eat first and if we had time, we were to check this place out and I'm glad we did :)

I picked up two pairs of shoes for great prices! These are the heels I got which I've already worn once and they are quite comfortable. I got the size 38 and it fits nicely~ all the shoes were sorted in size, so that made it easy and also helped to avoid disappointment! I'm sure we've all picked up a pair of gorgeous heels, only to find that there's none left in your size :( hehe..

Miss Animalistic is the design name, the price marked on the box was over $300 and I took it home for $89! Below is the second pair I picked up for $49. Not too sure what the original price was but very satisfied with what I paid anyway. The material is like a satin silk finish and has super gorgeous gold buttons! I'm a sucker for gold buttons..

As soon as I entered the sale, I received a huge bag to put all potential purchases into. The shoebox is just adorable too~ All the shoes come with dustbags. I really wished they had black pumps for me to buy too. Something like this. I've been looking for the perfect heel shape and this looks close to perfect! But anyway, still very happy lol!

Finally, the last item I picked up was this chunky gold lion detailed bangle. Grabbed this piece for $15~ I love it but the only downside was the 1 size only bit. I wish it came a little smaller but still love it anyway :)

I was so glad we went out to have lunch, I seldom go to Port Melb so I was very lucky! Staff at Peeptoe were VERY friendly, welcoming and helpful. They also filled me in that it was a shoe brand from Sydney that has been operating business for 4~5 years already. They've now opened up a store on Little Collins St in Melb and I'm sure they'll do well :)

September ✿ Spring Cleaning

I think this is the first time I've ever managed to do 'spring cleaning' at the right time!

Ever since I saw Chaigyaru's makeup box post, I've been determined to reorganise my makeup stash and have it all in one place! I was set on purchasing the glamour box but seeings as it's $124 and I'm currently unemployed - hehe - thought it wouldn't hurt to make use of my Office Works 4 drawer storage box. It actually turned out really well so I'm very pleased with myself ehehe :)

Since I bought mine years ago, I don't remember exactly how much it was but I had a quick search on their site and there's something similar for $16.99. The one I have is different, the last drawer is larger than the first three.

1st drawer | Lipglosses
2nd drawer | Lipsticks, lip liners and lip balms
3rd drawer | Mascara, eyeliners, brow pencils
4th drawer | Most of my face products eg. Foundation, blush, loose powders

These aren't absolutely all my makeup items, however, I have managed to fit majority in these storage boxes. In the above pic, I've filled the box with most of my eyeshadows. It's going to be awesome from now on, to be able to see what I have and create different looks! No more reaching for the nearest colours!!

Woohoo my false lash stash. I now know how many pairs of lashes I own and definitely won't need to purchase anytime soon. They are all hidden underneath what you can see!

Japanese magazines I used to buy because I was obsessed with model Hasegawa Jun. It's just too bad she's left Vivi now but anyway I'm over buying magazines lol! The maroon coloured books are Chinese Mandarin textbooks I used to learn from. Been years since studying Mandarin, would really love to speak it fluently though. Wo jiao Shizuka, wo yao xuexi hanyu! Does that even make sense haha *fail*

Say hello to my fav childhood character, SAILOR MOON ♥ I've had this clock for many years and I will never let it go, unless it breaks or something. I want to watch it all over again, from start to finish.. and I took these photos at 12:20 am yup.

Just an extra pic of some bags, hats & beanies, necklaces and skirts. I love my monkey hooks that I picked up from a quirky little shop in the CBD. Totally forgot the name but it's towards Queen St and Bourke St.

Aaah, it feels sooo much better after cleaning! I threw away lots of junk as well as vacuumed not only my room but the whole 2nd floor including stairs. So tiring but so worth it:)

Here's a post that was saved in my drafts since last summer - wow, terrible I know - I've been meaning to post this but since it was freezing here in Melb, I didn't even feel like clicking on the link to finish writing the post!

You can see these photos are from a while ago as I still have my old iphone case. I've replaced that with my new rabbito case now. Oh, and I had longer hair too!

I bought these short shorts when I went to Sydney with my gf's from a shop that I forgot the name of but the label says Fursome. So whether that was the store name or just the label, I have no idea! It's got studs along the side but it's hard to see with my iPhone pics!

I took these photos in the Marcs changing room when I bought this cute peter pan collard top. It was a huge room and just incase you're wondering, my bf took the photo haha. They allowed both of us in the same one, kinda strange but I got him to take a photo so yay haha.

It's a really nice summery top. It can be worn to dress up or casual with shorts. It's rather sheer so I would wear something underneath. I actually bought it for a friends bday dinner & drinks I was going to that evening:)

We have such beautiful weather in Melbourne right now. I've been keeping myself busy by being active! I used to play tennis frequently, but I hadn't played in years and when I did the other day, I played for 2.5 hrs in perfect weather condition followed by 3 hrs of badminton in the evening. The next morning I woke up, I literally had to crawl out of bed.. My muscles were so sore!! But in a sense, I feel good because I'm working them and being active, not sitting at home binging on junk food - my other hobby.
Well I'm off to play some squash now, have to keep this up!! So, I'll update again soon :) Thanks for reading x

This is the cheapest, most amazing no brand yellow nail colour I've ever found ✩ I picked it up from a really cute/cheap store a few years ago when I went back to Japan ♪ It was probably equivalent to $2 or $3 dollars. Still works and I love it. Pic 2 is my MAC keyboard skin :) It's actually a more soft baby pink colour in real life.

Chips! I ate all of that..and as a result, my skin is breaking out.. I totally knew this would happen but couldn't resist! >3< And who loves sour peach heart lollies? I sure do! I need more STAT.

Think I was taking pics for the blog here & hello to a purchase from Kroylan! It's the anti shine powder that is amazing but will write about that later on:)

♥ BAMBI SERIES: Princess Mimi GREEN APPLE グリーンアップル

My ultimate fav circle lens would hands down be the Bambi Series バンビシリーズ in green apple グリーンアップル, designed and produced by Masuwaka Tsubasa (益若つばさ). It's a vivid green gradation design and it really gives you that dolly eye effect.
When I was sponsored with the Royal Vision Love Grey lenses from Eyecandylens, I was really excited but truthfully, I always had my eyes on these babies so I bought them and asked Chloe to send it together with the sponsored lenses! I bought this pair and the almond brown for $26.88 each. I'll blog about the almond brown in later posts:)

If you follow me on twitter, you would've seen this pic in miniature size already~ When I wore these lenses, I used green eyeshadow to match it, however any colour goes! One thing I do recommend is, wear false lashes! It looks a million times better ON than without haha.

What it looks like. I am so in love with the design of this lens! I might end up getting the other colours - sesame grey & chocolate brown!

Here are some close up shots! Oh and in case you're wondering, I am wearing the dolly wink lashes, which are also my favourite haha. I stock up whenever I see them!

This close up shot below came out a little blurry but it's just too pretty not to post! I always seem to choose green for my lens! Lvlvlvlv it.

So comfortability wise - maybe 4/5. I still think the DM23 brown's the most comfortable lense EVER. But they aren't as obvious as these ones~ Enlargement is 5/5! Design & colour 5/5! I'm biased cos I love them so much haha.

A Day With Chaigyaru And Violet Le Beaux!

Hey everyone! ♥
I'm back from the snow and I've finally regained the energy to do anything haha. I really wanted to post this before I headed to Falls Creek on Friday night but had last minute packing to do so it's a little delayed.
Anyway, onto the post~ last Friday I finally got to meet Janice!! (Chaigyaru). We tried to meet up last time she visited Melbourne but due to my crazy work schedule, we couldn't arrange a time :(

We were going to take lots of pics together but we were way too busy yabbering haha. Def love this girl, so down to earth and funny!! We have heaps of things in common & happen to be the same age too!
We also caught up with gorgeous Violet Le Beaux and her bf at Koko Black:)! Fun fun!

After indulging in some yummy food & drinks at Koko Black, Janice & I headed to Chadstone Shopping Center! Took forever to get there because of the peak hr traffic though. So funny, one of the girls working in DJ recognised Janice from her Youtube videos! I was like *wow~ you're famous!*
Can't wait to meet up with everyone at ABBW I really enjoy meeting up with bloggers, I get lots of inspiration from every meet!

Easy Step-By-Step Natural Smokey Eye Tutorial

Hey everyone!
Here's my first attempt at a step-by-step eye makeup tutorial. I'll most likely start off with still images first and then progress onto videos in the future. I need to work out how to edit videos, upload, talk to the camera while applying makeup etc! Not sure how well it would turn out at this point.

So if you follow me on twitter, you might've seen me tweet about doing this post but it actually took longer than expected and once I finished taking photos and edited it to make a step by step look, I was too tired to take product photos. To be honest, I had no idea how to put this post together. And I guess I still don't exactly know what works best so any feedback is welcomed.

Hope you enjoy my first tut! This is a look I do all the time when I'm lacking creativity, tired or in a rush. I'm sure many of you have a staple look, well I guess this is mine hehe.

Hope the font isn't too light to read. Will definitely make it darker next time!

Below are the products I used for this look. MAJORITY of the products are by SHISEIDO and don't blame me, I use to work at Shiseido for 2.5yrs so I'm bound to use their products right hehe. Next time I'll use lots of other brands to make things more exciting. This is just what I used but there are so many similar shades out there so use what you have :) And they are not in order. I've numbered items so it's easier to explain, that is all.
*PRODUCTS*

1. Shiseido Concealer Stick in medium #2 - Love this to cover dark circles and my blemishes.

2. Shiseido Eyelash Curler - I still use the old one, it now comes in a slightly different shape and is black instead of silver. Fits my eyeshape really well so def going to keep using it till I can't any longer haha.

3. Shiseido Eyeliner Pencil in black #1 - This is the discontinued one that I still have. Love that it's an intense black and no smudging.

4. Shiseido Felt Pen Liner - Not from the global Shiseido range. I picked this up in a conbini (Japanese convenience store) for the cheapest price, and it's just so easy to use. When I went back to Japan to stock up, I couldn't find it any more :(

5. No brand eyebrow pencil - Picked up from a conbini as well, the brand name has rubbed off, so no info on this one!

6. Shiseido Hydro Powder Eyeshadow in H2 Whitelights - It's a cream texture eventhough the name is powder lol and I use it everyday on its own or under powder shadows.

7. Prestige Intense Black Volume Mascara in blackest black - Got this at the MBBE swap :) I am in love with the intense black and the lengthening & volumizing.

8. Shiseido Mascara Base - This really helps to separate, volumize, lengthen and protect lashes so I love it. Makes removing eye makeup harder though.

9. Shiseido Luminizing Satin Eye Colour Trio in GY901 - The girls at work knew this was my fave trio because I wore it pretty much everyday. It's a really nice palette to work with. I LOVE the white shimmer colour in there. I use it to highlihgt my brow bone and inner corners of the eyes. Great for blending shades in too.

10. Shiseido Luminizing Satin Eye Colour in BK915 - An intense single black colour that I love to work with. Helps dramatise any look!

Working At Shiseido (Australia)

I'm Back!!

Hi everyone, thank you so much for all your support even when I was hardly updating!!

If you read my previous post, you'd know that I recently resigned from my job. My final week was probably one of the busiest and most tiring.

So I've complained a lot and whinged here & there on my blog/twitter but I've never really put it out there that I worked at Shiseido. I purposely didn't to avoid stalkers LOL nah not really, more so that product reviews or opinions wouldn't be biased but now that I've resigned and have absolutely nothing to do with it, I feel open talking about it! Close friends or people I've met would've known & you may have realised a lot of the makeup I wore was from Shiseido haha, so now you know why:)

I joined Shiseido in the beginning of December 2008 and finished up 2 July 11 so basically I was there for two and a half years and definitely enjoyed it, learned a lot, experienced things I'd never think of and also made many new friendships. The job helped me grow my confidence and skills. I still really do love the company and products.

After 3 months of working as a part timer on a smaller counter, I received a surprising proposal from my managers to become a specialist, which is basically a position that includes facials, makeup events, recruitment events, workshops and a whole lot more. This to me, sounded rather exciting and back then I was after more hours so with a guaranteed 20hrs a week minimum I thought I should give it a go.

Why I left: Some problems I faced with this new position was that it meant I had no permanent location, I'd have to travel to places near & far and I'd get my changing rosters every Friday of the week. And who knew the minimum 20hrs/week meant you get close to or more than 50hrs/week at times LOL. After working week-by-week for close to 3 yrs, not knowing when and where I'd be the following week got really tiring. I could never make plans with family, friends or my bf and it was physically tiring due to my team being short staffed too. These weren't the only reasons. There was a whole chunk more to why I decided to leave but I think I'd bore your brains out so I'll finish it off here:)

I'm going to add a few images now so that later on, I can reminisce the good & bad times at Shseido:)

I was lucky enough to take part of the backstage team and do the contestant's makeup at Miss Melbourne Chinese Pageant in 2009 and 2010. It's hosted by TVBA, which I believe is a Hong Kong TV show. By far the most exciting event I got to be involved with. I got to watch backstage at a beauty pageant!~ In 2009 location shoot was at Mornington Peninsula hot springs and in 2010 it was in Ballarat & Geelong beach. I remember it was freezing on both occasions and felt so sorry for these poor girls posing in close to nothing!

Oh got to add a pic of me receiving my "Omotenashi of The Year" award haha! Omotenashi is a Japanese word that describes many english words such as customer service, passion, respect, hospitality etc. Shiseido really pride their Japanese ways of customer service and in training we are taught "The Way of Tea". Unfortunately there may be a gap in level of service when compared to Japanese Beauty Consultants but we still try our best hehe. But anyway I was overwhelmed to receive this award and it meant a lot to me:) There's one of the gorgeous ladies giving me a kiss on the cheek to congradulate me

Along with the "Omotenashi of The Year" certificate I received, I was also presented with Tiffany&Co vouchers♥♥

Here, we have our National Events & Training Manager preparing her presentations for one of our Modern Beauty Workshops. This was held at one of the gorgeous houses in Toorak. We've also done other workshops at the Japanese Consul's house also in Toorak, HSBC office for their VIP clients and also ANZ VIP clients at the Crown Spa. Was a really great experience once again!

Here's an article about the workshop at the Japanese Consul's house. Can you find me :) I'm next to my manager in the white top hehe.

Here's Ken Matsuda our National Makeup Artist for our National Shiseido Studio Event. I worked alongside him to help out the customer learn, write down and draw all the products used, explain, take photos of her etc.

A lot of my time was spent doing facials too. Shiseido offer a few different relaxation massages and here's a peek into the beauty room. My final week I did facials that were 1.5 hour appointments and I worked 9:30-8:30 from Tues-Sat so that's why I was so busy & exhausted.

This was at the ANZ Workshop for their VIP clients. It was held in the Crown Spa room! I used to work at Crown so it brought back a lot of memories too.

And lastly, here's me on a normal counter coverage shift. I had to blur my friend out as requested. This was the old counter, it's now polished into a much more beautiful counter!

So I hope you enjoyed reading about what I have been doing as my job!
I enjoyed writing about it actually haha. I'm sorry if it doesn't make much sense or blabbered on too much. Haven't written in a while to be honest haha.
I resigned without a next job secured but I don't regret my decision, I am crazy happy with everything right now. I plan to take a long break but that will guarantee me to run out of money so will start looking soon lol!

Why I Have Disappeared.

My New Hair & Marc Jacob Gumboots.

Hey everyone~♡

I've finally ticked something off my To Do list, and that something was to actually make an appointment to cut my hair! Oh and to update my blog so basically I killed two birds with one stone. After being my usual indecisive-self, I decieded to go back to Stairs Hair Salon in South Yarra. I've been there a couple of times before to have permanent hair straightening and they are lovely & have friendly service so thought, why not go back there:)

So here are the before pictures of my long hair. I know it was silly of me to wear black as it's really hard to see the before length but I'm sure you can grasp the idea of how long and thick it was before. So my hair is naturally very thick, rebellious and very damaged. I don't know why I don't care for my hair as often as I'd like, I go to the salon about 2-3 times a yr. Sometimes more or less. Last time I blogged here about the big chop it had also been a while. Looks like I was wearing black then too. Oops hehe

I usually wouldn't but I asked them if I could take some photos of the interior. It would be nice for you to get the feel of the salon I'm writing about. They were so cute though, when I said I want to take photos for my blog they kept saying "oh we will clean it first", "there is no where nice to take!" Hehe it looks pretty if you ask me.

This is the place where all the action is! My appointment was at 2 but I ended up getting there 30 mins early, so instead of waiting outside in the freezing cold I thought I'd just go up first and wait inside while reading Japanese mags and get some hair inspiration. There were customers when I walked in and I didn't mind waiting but within 5~10 mins of my arrival they said they can start so I was really pleased :)

This is the little corner where they wash hair. There's also plenty of interesting magazines to keep you busy if you ever have to wait long. :)

Stairs also carry some Japanese hair products too! I didn't purchase anything because I still have some things I picked up in Japan but when I run out I might go back here to experiment. They have some more detailed images here. Some of the things they have are; seafood shampoo, wheat protein treatment, spice sisters wax, colour spray, shiseido chrystalizing straight which I don't know whether it is a treatment or shampoo.

I didn't know this but Stairs also offer nail services such as nail care, treatment, nail beauty. The station here is so cute !

Check out that lump of hair!! Yup, it's all mine! Gross haha. Feels refreshing knowing all that has been snipped off. Kaoriさんwho was my hair dresser was sweeping it for the photos but I wanted to capture this hahah just for some memory of some sort.

Ok So i've been blabbering a lot today. Finally, here is the AFTER shots. I asked for lots of thinning, layering and more shape. I have short layers at the back crown area of my head so I can easily add volume or tease it. The front layers are perfect for curling so I like it too.

These was me at Laurent Bakery in the city afterwards, having a nice break although I wasn't doing a lot to begin with hehe. I've added a side shot of my hair too.
Oh btw, I've been meaning to take a pic of the new Zara store that's opening soon too! How exciting!! I hope it's as good as overseas. I'm not as in love with Zara as I used to be but nevertheless, still exciting to know Australia is slowly catching up hehe!

And finally last but not least the outfit details~
I was FREEZING in this outfit. I didn't realise how cold it was going to be when I rushed out of the house.

My speedy looks really boxy from this low angle haha. I've got a bag base/shaper inside:) I love these detailed Bardot pants! They are seriously one of my faves <3

I blogged about these beauties in this post just over a year ago and it was actually the first time wearing them out!! It's amazingly comfortable and ofcourse waterproof. Was a perfect choice since it rained and hailed that day!

A long overdue outfit post!
I'm still using mirrors to capture my outfits but it's better than nothing right:)

This outfit was from a while ago, it was forgotten and lost somewhere amongst the other photos on my iphone.
Here I hold my Longchamp bag from when I travelled to Japan, a dress from Miss Shop in Myer and a gold necklace from Comme Ca Ism.
Boots are from a local no brand shoe shop, which I love.

Here is my new oversized green knit from the brand Black Friday.
It's designed in Melbourne, made in China.
Very comfortable and perfect for those casual days/nights out or visiting friend's houses.
This is a size S, I did try the size M first to get the oversized look but it looked really wrong. This was a little bit better haha.
Also if you're wondering why I'm trying things on with the doors open, it's because I was with a friend and we were talking & seeing how it looks hehe.

Royal Vision Love Grey ♥

Thank you so much Chloe for sending me these gorgeous Love Grey lenses!! - These are also known as Candy Magic Natural Grey in Japan.
I love them because it helps to enhance the eyes naturally. When I wear these I don't feel like I'm a googly eyed alien! Although I still love those huge lenses haha but if you want to wear a natural style to work or on a daily basis this design is perfect. I like to keep my alien eyes for nights out with friends:)!

Above is my look for today. No lenses yet hehe.
I'm using GY901 eyeshadow trio from Shiseido, one of my favourite eyeshadow colours! I blogged about it here

Anyway, onto the circle lense details!
These have 42% water content, it says 15.0mm in diameter but have a feeling it's smaller than that, 8.6 base curve and 1 year duration. I still don't recommend you to wear it that long. You really must clean and care for it correctly and even if you did, there may be protein build up or surface damage so please take care! Also, I got mine in plano, however, there are different degrees to choose from. Check out the site for more info :)

The Love Grey lenses really do look grey when it's not in the eye. On my dark eyes it appears to be a blue/grey colour but I guess all lenses do this hehe. It's got a soft black edge, perfect for a more natural look.

I finally remembered to do a with flash and natural light comparison pic! Go me :) Yes, so with flash you can see more of the blue/grey colour and natural lighting seems to hide it a little. I don't mind either, but I prefer flash because you can see more of the details of the lense design.

So why am I looking away? Lol, because I'm trying to make that halo effect that most lens create! But as you can see, the enlargement isn't as big so you won't get that look! Is that good or bad? Well it's really your personal preference! For me I don't really mind either way.

And lastly, this is what it looks like with both eyes in with flash. It's super comfortable and natural!!
I've got the Apple green & Almond brown from the Bambi series to reivew so if you love circle lenses, keep an eye out for that :)

Items From MBBE Swap & FOTD

So a little while ago, before my 50+ hr work week, I managed to take a day off and meet the lovely ladies of MBBE (Melbourne Beauty Blogger Event). Even though I work in the cosmetic industry, I have never heard so much makeup/skincare talk! Everyone was so knowledgable and passionate about beauty I loved it!! After indulging in the yummiest pavlovas, cakes, cookies and sushi, the table from being covered in delicious food was turned into a table full of beauty products. Take a look for yourselves!!

We each brought things that we no longer wanted, things that were either new or barely used and did a huge swap. Great idea in my opinion! As they say, ones junk is another's treasure. Was quite hilarious at the start we were all so gd, each taking turns to pick an item but realised it was seriously going to take forever so we ended up helping ourselves.

Here are some of the products I ended up with. I tried to take minimal items as I really don't need any more in my stash and am trying to use other things up.

So I finally got around to using some of the products I got from the swap and FOA. The eyeshadow is actually the blue one from the Avon eyeshadow quad - pictured in one of the above images. I know it looks totally different it's kinda weird but I guess i've mixed a little of the darker grey and the gold colour too. Blue+yellow=green right? Haha who knows.

The mascara is also an item from the swap, it's already in my makeup bag so I forgot to add it into the photos but it was the Maybelliene sky high curves mascara! I personally love Maybelliene mascaras, they are affordable and does the trick.

With lips I usually don't wear bright or dark colours but thought I might give it a try this time. I've got the Lime Crime great pink planet lippie on together with the FOA pink lipliner and spf 30+ lip balm as a moisturizing base. Bright pink, I don't think I can get used to this any time soon but it was fun to play with and I love the packaging of the lipstick :)

Here is the total look. I've tried on some of the FOA mousse foundation and I.D bare minerals blush too. The foundation colour is tan and it's a little darker than what I'd usually go for but loving the texture! I have blotchy colours on my face oops.

Movie Outfit

This is what I wore to the movies. Pretty simple but a non-black outfit from me! We watched Fast & the Furious 5 and it was great! Firstly, I hadn't seen a movie with my bf in a while and secondly it kept us entertained till the very end:) Oh and thirdly, I got to eat a huge bucket of popcorn!! I ate most of it on my own too om nom nom!

I'm wearing comfy rubi flats too haha. Face bloating caused by guilty junk food overdose.. Breaking out badly too so no beauty posts for now haha.. ew :'( I'll have some circle lens reviews coming up when I receive them though!!

Today, I really wanted to make a beauty post but ended up drawing and so I thought I'd keep the beauty related post for my next update:) Here are my drawings of girls again. Thanks to everyone, including anonymous readers for giving me tips on where to go in Malaysia & Singapore! Also, big thanks to ppl consistently supporting my half alive blog!! I feel motivated to post more & keep it updated regularly! I'm slowly getting back to your questions so pls be patient :)

On Thursday evening, I finally got to catch up with sweet Val who blogs all things beauty over at her beauty blog, Ponikuta. It's just incredible how I've met her through blogging and on our 2nd catch up, we are already chatting like we've been friends for years. Still can't believe how down to earth you are Val, and how much you inspire me.

We ate yummy Japanese fusion food at Izakaya Den, right off Russel St and Little Collins St. I was too engaged in conversation, I forgot to take pictures of the actual dishes but here's our dessert; Houjicha ice cream! (Houjicha is roasted Japanese green tea) Very very sweet so if you have a sweet tooth, I recommend. I think I prefer more of the bitter flavour you get from normal maccha (green tea) ice cream :)

After much chatting, I feel this rush of excitement to blog more beauty! I have a deep interest in skincare, makeup & cosmetics in general so expect more beauty related posts!!

MSIA SGP & JPN ♥

I'm back!! ただいま〜 I was only on holidays for 2 weeks but it's been a long time since I last updated my blog. I probably won't be going into details about the trip as it's also burred in my mind. I can't even recall exactly what happened. Everything just happened so fast and seems like many months have already passed. I just know that I had a great time, I got to see amazing places and the highlight was eating and stuffing my face everywhere I went.
MALAYSIA
So my holidays started off in Malaysia, I stayed in Park Royal. Seemed center to most things which I found really convenient :) There was food everywhere in Msia, I loved it. One thing I didn't love was the humidity but that was expected. Here are the food pics!!

The first one is hawker style food, second is at the night market mmm yum, third is the Old Town right outside the hotel & lastly Japanese buffet at Zen in Sunway Pyramid. It was really nice jap food in msia!

We went to a lot of shopping malls and here are a few I managed to take photos of. The inside and out of Pavilion.. such an amazing shopping center.. huge inside. The large promotional space for Clarins was at KLCC and I also visited Sungei Wang which had more local brands I think. Was fun in there, it was like a maze!

The first pic is of my bestfriend and I on our way to Singapore! Second is at Melaka, third is at ZOUK. I had an amazing time there, so much fun, drinks, music and dancing. The last pic is of us on the way to Zouk. Sorry my photos are all over the place haha.. The photo below is at Sunway Pyramid.. deco was so pretty quite asian on the other side but this side was like a dream land. Lot's of fairylights, animals and pretty things..

SINGAPORE
We were in Singapore for a very short period of time. We arrived after lunch, slept and left the next morning, literally. The first image is mandarin chicken rice at the Mandarin Hotel. If I remember correctly, it was at the restaurant called Chatterbox. Was delicious!! Second is the Casino at Sentosa. We visited so many places in that afternoon, so much to see and do but not enough time! The last two photos are from the ferris wheel. Looking over Singapore was seriously beautiful. Can't wait till the flower garden is complete. It's going to look even more breathtaking. I can't believe I didn't get to shop in Singapore.... FAIL.

JAPAN
2 nights in Malaysia, 1 in Singapore, an 11 hr transit in Shanghai and we finally arrive in Japan! All this within one week. Hectic. Tiring and crazy. We landed in Osaka first as planned and was about to head to Tokyo when the earthquake happened. We were so lucky to have missed our bullet train to Tokyo or we'd be stuck there not knowing what to do. I was supposed to meet my brother who livess in Ibaraki but plans fell through.. His area is very near to Fukushima where the nuclear explosion has taken place.. It was and still is a heartbreaking situation. Let's continue praying for Japan.. and the whole earth..
Although we didn't get to go to Tokyo - our main destination - we were thankful to be safe and to be on holidays. My best friend and my parents were really worried and told us to come back so instead we flew back to Malaysia for the rest of the week.

On a brighter note, we were lucky enough to enjoy what we could. We ate ramen, okonomiyaki, takoyaki, sushi & more. We didn't fit much shopping into our jam packed holdiay but the experience made it worthwhile.

We stayed at Swissotel in Namba and the morning we had to leave, all we had to do was go down to level 3 and catch one Rapid train to Kansai International Airport. Things in Japan are so convenient. I really miss it.

We've been talking about our Japan trip ever since high school days and we were stoked to make it happen. We were both hugely disappointed to cut short time in Japan and cancelling all our plans in Tokyo, but we had an amazing time. Malaysia, Singapore and Japan, is a definite must-go destination! My brother and my family in Japan are safe, thank you to everyone for your concerns.. Really touching. Let's keep supporting JPN and others in need!
