Easter Weekend | Girls Night Out ♡

Today's post is pretty much all about the Easter weekend that I spent with some of my fav blogging buddies ! ♡ I'm sure you saw many tweets or pictures already if you follow me or the other girls on twitter & instagram!

It was really nice to have Jeanice & Janice both Sydney girls down in Melbourne for the weekend! Hadn't seen them since September last year ~
me, jean, janice, evelyn, val
On Friday night, we headed over to Crown for some yummy food at Koko thanks to Val for the awesome choice! The above picture was taken by Neil Perry, the owner of Rockpool - the most awkward and embarrasing moment ever! - I totally didn't recognise him and when I asked for him to take a photo FOR us, he thought we asked to take a photo WITH him and me being super slow, didn't get it. T^T Good memory anyway I guess haha.

Gyu tataki, soft shell crab, ebi tempura at Koko ♥ I forgot to capture the rest of the food, I was probably too busy eating!

After dinner and the embarrasing Neil Perry incident, we headed downstairs to The Waiting Room. It's such a lovely bar, with pretty decor and drinks!

me & evelyn
I got my bb to come out as well! She's my friend from highschool (since year 7!) and of course we photowhored a lot hehe. She's started a fashion blog so check it out and sub her if you like <3 click HERE to see her fashion blog :)

emily, me, janice, val, jean, evelyn
We headed over to the event at Long Room after dinner and drinks. Emily also joined us for a bit too! Got to thank her boyfriend for this pic with all of us in it~
Evelyn, Val & I ended up dancing the night away at Eve <-- Bad mistake, we were so tired and dead the next day!

Brunch the next morning at the Grasshopper's Feast. We also headed over to Brunetti for a break just before Val and I headed off to get ready for night time round II. That's my favourite blood red orange granita.

By this time, I was looking and feeling like death with the effects from the previous week kicking in as well.

Look at us Melbourne girls with stockings and Janice with shorts and thongs! Hehe wish we had Sydney weather all the time in Melb!

Saturday night dinner at Red Spice Road. Everything was delicious and I already want to go back! It was only my second time there and each time, the food never fails to impress!

janice and I

We all met up again at Rainbow Karaoke where we spent a good 5 hours! I also got to meet gorgeous Roseanne at dinner & karaoke ♡

2 weeks of serious partying after I hadn't gone out late at night for such a long time, I ended up losing my voice, really bad ugly eye bags, skin breakouts and a cold. All of this was still very much worth it!! I had a great time and I would do it again any day :) Luckily I  had 2 weeks off work though haha.

I hope you enjoyed my huge, image full post and had a great Easter weekend too!

Instagram Part VIII

Hi everyone~ Sorry I haven't updated in a while. I've decided to stop limiting myself to just beauty related posts. I miss my xanga where I'd just post random things and I think I'd like to start doing that again. That way there will hopefully be more frequent updates! Most updates will still probably be about beauty but a little more random things here and there.

So today, I have another one of my instagram series to share! Part 8 :)

FOTD | Salon Melbourne 2012

As always, I'm running a little behind in my posts so here I am trying to clear the backlog of posts!

Here's my look from 2 weeks ago! I hadn't gone out and partied so hard in such a long time that although fun, it was also super duper tiring - somehow, I managed to come home at 7:30 in the morning. I don't know when the last time I did that was haha!

I enjoyed re-living my youthful partying days until I realised I had to be ready and out of the house in a couple of hours time to meet Valerie and some MBBE girls for the Salon Melbourne event!! Val from Ponikuta had kindly invited me as her plus one and I definitely wanted to tag along so I somehow managed to pull myself together and meet them (although 30~40 mins late sorry guys!)

My pass - Thanks to Ponikuta (Val) <3

I loved this section where they had the 2012 Schwarzkopf Professional Hair Expo Awards finalist gallery. I found out afterwards that once we'd chosen our favourite, we were able to vote for the People's Choice Award that will be announced in June.

I was quite surprised and pleased to see the Shiseido Professional range in Salon Melbourne. I felt like buying things but was too tired to think or even spend that day (phew, lucky I went with close to no sleep!)

This counter totally reminded me of Benefit! I have a shower cap that's really similar to the one above! Us bloggers were all taking photos but then the lady there questioned us and asked who we were lol! Probably got a little paranoid since there were so many cameras at once.

And lastly, check out these gorgeous makeup cases!! They came in white, pink and black colours. So pretty, I really wanted to lug one home with me. Unfortunately I don't remember which brand it was from. I was definitely half asleep that day!

I hope you enjoyed today's post!
If you couldn't make it to the Salon Melbourne hair & beauty event this year, be sure to save the date for next years event:
SALON MELBOURNE 2013
Sunday 13th & Monday 14th April

Face Of Australia | Impact Curl Extreme Volume & Curl Mascara

Hi everyone! Long time no blog hehe. I've had a crazy two weeks of partying and I've managed to lose my voice along the way. I will blog about my weekend with other bloggers in my up coming posts!

Mascara that I'm currently loving! I was given the opportunity to try the new Face Of Australia Impact-Curl mascara and I am thoroughly impressed!

The new revolutionary smooth-curve formula is really effective even if you have thin asian lashes! You can see in the above picture that the brush comes with a unique hourglass-shaped brush and it's also rubber so it really helps to grab each separate lash.

Here are some shots from when I first trialled it - I've been wearing it almost everyday now.
  • Loving the clump-free, smudge proof, volumizing and lengthening enhanced look that it gives me.
  • The mascara definitely gives me a long lasting curl but I always make sure I curl my lashes really well before applying my mascara too.
  • Another bonus for me is that it doesn't come with the strong chemical smell that some other mascaras have. No matter how much I love the mascara, if the smell is overpowering, I end up cringing on each application and I eventually stop using the item.
The Impact-Curl mascara is paraben-free, contains conditioners that help to nourish the lashes and is suitable for sensitive eyes.

Find the new mascara in Priceline, Kmart, Big W and selected Pharmacies. Click here for full stockists (RRP $11.95) Made in Australia | Against animal testing

Thank you for reading and don't forget to enter my current giveaway :) 5 prizes to be won!

Clarins Gloss Prodige | Intensive Colour & Shine Lip Gloss Raspberry 06

Apart from circle lens and liquid liner, I am madly obsessed with lip gloss. I love how we have the luxury of choosing from so many different colours and brands! You can probably guess how excited I was to receive the new Clarins Gloss Prodige in Raspberry 06
Below is the promotional picture for the new generation of gel based lip colours from Clarins! Cute right! The other image is the one I had on instagram :)

BEAUTY BENEFITS:
  • Intense and long lasting colour
  • Ultimate shine
  • Hydration
KEY INGREDIENTS:
  • Maxi-Lip and hyaluronic acid to help enhance fuller looking lips
  • Radiance boosting pearls, helps to optimise light reflection
  • A high concentration of pigments evenly dispersed in an ultra-shiny texture to ensure intense gloss and even colour
  • Raspberry oil for nourishing and hydration
Here's a swatch with flash! I love the full colour that it gives and it really helps my lips to look smooth and hydrated.

I've mentioned in the past that I love lip glosses that are thick and hydrating. My lips get SO dry that I don't even mind those thick textured, sticky glosses. *imagine hair sticking to gloss* But luckily, I can achieve that hydrating result even without the super thick, sticky texture thanks to the gloss prodige.

The no flash swatch!

The collection comes in 8 pretty shades:
01 Chocolate    03 Rose      05 Grenadine     07 Blackberry
02 Nude           04 Candy    06 Raspberry     08 Papaya

RRP: $35 each
Available in Myer, David Jones, selected pharmacies and online www.adorebeauty.com.au

I love lipstick too but I'm definitely more of a lip gloss girl :) Which are you?
